Adam Growe Renowned Comedian, Host of Cash Cab

Adam GroweAdam Growe has become a familiar face in households across Canada as the witty host of Cash Cab. A natural storyteller, Adam entertains audiences unlike anybody else with his quirky stories that are all too relatable. Adam’s unique brand of comedy has garnered an international following and he can fully customize sets that are guaranteed to bring the house down.

For over 30 years, Adam Growe has been performing on radio, television, stage, and at conferences and events. In addition to hosting Discovery Channel’s Cash Cab, Adam is an accomplished stand-up comedian starring in Just for Laughs, Comedy NOW!, COMICS!, CBS’s Star Search, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. His career portfolio includes keynote presentations, an interactive video web app for businesses and planners, one-man shows, and public speaking coaching. Adam is also a certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor.

Adam brings energy and clean, intelligent comedy and trivia to the stage. He delivers a fun and highly engaging performance to meet the interests and needs of his audience and many repeat clients. He lives in Toronto with his wife and three kids, where they foster babies with the Children’s Aid Society.

Kenneth Cowie Kenneth Cowie is a Forensic Engineering Specialist with Kodsi Forensic Engineering. Operating as Kodsi’s Atlantic Canadian expert, Kenneth services New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Having graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Traffic and Transportation Engineering emphasis, Kenneth specializes in matters involving roadway safety design issues including signage, marking, lighting, and geometry. Kenneth has been involved in over 200 investigations that range in complexity from simple rear-enders to extremely complex incidents involving multiple vehicles of varying types, pedestrians, off-road vehicles, and equipment.

Scott Earle Strategic Partner Developer, Fix Automotive Network - Instructor, I-Car Canada

Scott Earle Scott Earle is a Strategic Partner Developer for the Fix Automotive Network and an Instructor for I-Car Canada. Based out of Durham Bridge, NB., Scott is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland where he started in the Automotive industry in a family-owned body shop in 1984. Scott has passionately pursued this industry for the past 35 years in various roles either as a Platinum Certified Technician, Management and more recently on a Corporate team.

When Scott is not traveling the Atlantic Provinces working with shops in the Fix Automotive Network, he can be found volunteering with several groups in the Fredericton area or catching some fresh air on his motorcycle.

Daniel Filippi Program Specialist, Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation

Daniel Filippi Daniel advances the climate adaptation file through the management and development of various programs and projects at the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation (ICCA) out of the University of Waterloo. His current research focus is on the various emerging technologies, initiatives and actionable approaches available to help mitigate widespread urban flooding events, which are quickly becoming the new norm across Canada.

In his role at the Intact Centre, Daniel focuses on applying high-level industry best practices, initiatives, standards and programs to develop on the ground campaigns and projects. His work highlights the need for increased understanding, practice, and adoption of climate adaptive approaches for homeowners, municipal governments and businesses. These projects include, (1) Increasing homeowner adoption of flood resilience in previously flood-affected urban areas across Canada; (2) Developing online flood training for brokers, developers, and real estate agents to help them inform their clients about the increased levels of risk due to urban flooding; and (3) Leading development and instruction of the Home Flood Risk Assessment Training (HFRAT) course. The course focuses on flood prevention, mitigation, risk management and preventative practices at the lot level by teaching current industry practitioners (home inspectors, insurance brokers, emergency managers, technologists, etc.) how to perform visual assessments using a nationally-recognized and applicable online tool.

Prior to joining the Intact Centre, Daniel worked at Seneca College, the Ministry of Environment, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, and Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. Daniel holds a B.Sc in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph and a Master of Science in Biophysical Interactions from the University of Toronto.

Joel Pereira, CSIO’s Senior Business Analyst

Joel_Pereira.pngJoel Pereira is CSIO’s Senior Business Analyst, managing CSIO’s XML & EDI data standards used in the industry. He is responsible for leading & facilitating CSIO’s national standards working group while collaborating with members to update & maintain changes to the standards. Prior to CSIO, Joel was a business analyst for several years with OPTA Information Intelligence, a provider of property intelligence and innovative technology solutions in Canada. Joel holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph.

Monica Hanna, CSIO’s Business Solutions Delivery Lead

Monica_Hanna.jpgMonica Hanna is CSIO’s Business Solutions Delivery Lead, managing work on critical initiatives including the development and launch of eDelivery, standardizing Commercial Lines Data Standards to automate the quote and bind of small commercial business, and spearheaded the agile standard update process, resulting in a decrease of millions of Z-Codes. Prior to CSIO, Monica was a Commercial Lines Underwriting Associate at Chubb Insurance for several years. Monica has completed her CIP and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management.

Jill Edney, Angus Millers Underwriter within Commercial Lines

Jill_Edney.jpgJill joined the Angus Miller team in June 2016. With 34 years of experience, she has worked for some major insurance companies both on the underwriting and the claims side, as well as being responsible for support and training for a software development company. Now that she’s settled into the role of a commercial MGA underwriter Jill specializes in high hazard and hard to place risks.
In her spare time, Jill volunteers at the local animal shelter and loves spending time outdoors with her husband and three dogs. She is also an avid runner and cyclist and has completed half and full marathons as well as her first duathlon.

Debbie Coull-Cicchini Executive Vice President, Intact Insurance

Debbie Coull-Cicchini Debbie Coull-Cicchini was appointed Executive Vice President of Intact Insurance in January 2018. In this role, Ms. Coull-Cicchini oversees the operations of Intact Insurance in the Atlantic, Ontario and Western Canada. Prior to this role, Ms. Coull-Cicchini was COO and Senior Vice President for the Ontario Division. During this time Ms. Coull-Cicchini played an integral part in the integration of three successful acquisitions and led the implementation of numerous key strategic priorities.

Prior to joining IFC in 2005, Ms. Coull-Cicchini worked for a U.S. Bank as EVP Wealth Management, Retail Banking & Marketing, while residing in the U.S. Previous to this role, she was instrumental in launching two On-Line Banking start-ups which included President's Choice Financial in Canada and Amicus Bank in the U.S. She has held other various Retail Banking executive roles in Personal & Commercial Banking within CIBC.

Ms. Coull-Cicchini holds a BA in Economics from McMaster University in Hamilton and an MBA from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Donna Ince Senior Vice President of Personal Insurance, RSA

Donna Ince Donna is a senior insurance executive with over 27 years’ experience in the Canadian property and casualty market. As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), she has leveraged her financial and operational experience to establish a solid track record of developing and executing strategies to deliver, through periods of transformational change.

With extensive experience across multiple disciplines, Donna has provided senior leadership within corporate and large operational functions including Personal & Small Commercial Underwriting, Broker Distribution, Claims, Regulatory Affairs and Business Integrations. In 2014, she jointly led the RSA Canada transformation strategic review resulting in the reorganization of the Canadian business. Donna personally led a number of those transformational initiatives including Pricing Sophistication and Personal Underwriting Operations.

Donna is a senior leader engaged in influencing the future of the insurance industry in the areas of education, industry affairs, and diversity and inclusion. She is a past President of the Governing Council of the Insurance Institute of Ontario and is the current Deputy Chair of the IBC’s Ontario Committee. She is passionate about sponsoring women's leadership and is RSA Group’s Senior Executive sponsor for leading the Diversity and Inclusion agenda in Canada.

Carol Jardine President of Canadian Property and Casualty operation, Wawanesa

Carol Jardine Carol Jardine is the President of Wawanesa’s Canadian Property & Casualty operations – a position she was appointed to in April 2018. Prior to this role, Carol served as Wawanesa’s Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer since joining the company in 2016.

Previously, Carol was Vice President of Claims at TD Insurance; President and COO of Canadian Northern Shield Insurance prior to its sale to RSA; and President of CUMIS General Insurance and the leader of the Credit Union Insurance agencies, prior to the sale of the CUMIS Group to the Co-operators.
