Job Description / Duties

Cheep Insurance is not your traditional insurance brokerage. As Atlantic Canada’s 1st and only 100% online broker, our team gets to work from the comfort of their homes every day.

As an online broker, we’ve been ruffling feathers in the industry since our launch in 2016 – and our significant success means we’re now looking to grow our team. We are on the hunt for a licensed insurance broker with exceptional customer service skills to help us service our growing book of business. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a small group of energetic, intelligent, and results-focused team members in a fun work atmosphere where technology is revered.

Key Responsibilities may include:
• Provide exceptional customer service across a number of communication channels to our existing business by answering product and service queries.
• Deliver thorough coverage explanations, empathetic claims handling, ability to remarket where appropriate to ensure coverage and premium needs are met.
• Meet and/or exceed monthly and annual goals while providing excellent customer service.
• Handle and/or respond to all incoming mail/e-mail from existing clients in a timely, friendly & efficient manner.
• Review and update client file information to ensure information is up to date and accurate.
• Process and review renewals for all insurers.
• Keep up to date with changes in rating, eligibility & guidelines for the insurance carriers.
• Contact clients and complete any requotes/remarkets as required.
• Process all cancellation requests on company portals.
• Ensure adherence to internal and external underwriting rules, regulations and procedures.
• Provide cross sell and upsell recommendations to existing clientele.
• Collect expiry dates on other lines of business from existing clientele.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of various insurance carriers’ underwriting rules & product features and benefits.
• Maintain knowledge and proficiency on various insurer carrier portals.
• Responds to insurance company underwriters in a timely manner.
• Actively participate in training initiatives.
• Work each day supporting the company’s values, vision and policies.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Post-secondary education and / or equivalent on the job experience
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in home and auto insurance broker
• RIBO licensed is required. Licensing must be kept valid and up to date.
• Understanding of insurance product offerings and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications including EPIC (Broker Management System), Applied Rating Services (ARS) and Microsoft Office.
• High level of integrity and excellent work ethic.
• Results-oriented with a strong customer service focus.
• Ability to work in fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
